Current Role:
Previous Committee Roles: President, VPE, VPM
When we volunteer to take up committee roles we do so
unknowingly. Sometimes we are coerced to take up these roles.
However, by taking up a committee role you are signing up to growth
and you are saying yes to unlocking your latent leadership potential.
My first committee role was the VPM where I had the responsibility
to take the club that was in the intensive care unit to where it
showed signs of growth. After my term as VPM ended, I was elected
as the VPE and this is where I grew immensely. The role is very
demanding as it is the engine of any thriving club. Being the VPE
helped me to connect more with members, and to understand goal
setting and execution. I took the lessons I learned from serving at the
club to my workplace. Since then, goal setting is now part of my work
and social life. I always start with the end in mind and work on the
path that connects me to my goals. If anyone out there yearns to
unlock their latent leadership, I recommend they take up a club
committee role. Take it head-on and you will thank me later!
